- • Coordinated logistics for the annual intercollegiate Kapihan Conference discussing Filipino and Filipino-American cultural topics with participants from New York University, Columbia University, Binghamton University, and Cornell University
- • Spearheaded campus-wide Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts, coordinating with over 20 organizations to raise at least $6000 in funds
- • Acted as an executive liaison to national and international philanthropic organizations with interests in the Philippines, including Advancement for Rural Kids and Oxfam International
- • Directed annual cultural dinners, traditional dances, and performances to promote and celebrate Filipino culture in the Ithaca, NY community
- • Designed and published posters, publicity materials, and website for community outreach
June 2013 - October 2013
- • Built and organized an online database of 99 survey responses and 500+ specimen samples
- • Designed a Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices survey regarding mosquitoes and Dog Heartworm, then administered the door-to-door survey to residents in Lake City and St. Augustine, Florida
- • Analyzed data trends to eliminate difficulties in survey formatting and delivery
- • Educated local communities on the dangers and prevention of Dog Heartworm, West Nile Virus, Dengue, and other illnesses transmitted through mosquitoes
- • Researched the distribution of regional mosquito species
- • Conducted laboratory procedures including PCR, heartworm count, and mosquito species identification
I am also the webmaster for Equipped to Learn, a nonprofit that supplies underprivileged schools in the Philippines.
